How do Ear Hopi Candles work?

The ear candles create a light suction action like the effect that draws smoke up a chimney when the fire is alight. In addition, a vibration of air is created in the ear candle by the sound and movement of the flame, and this gently massages the eardrum, penetrating to vibrate the tiny bones in the inner ear and induce a pleasant feeling of warmth and a balance of pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses while the herbal essences in the ear candle are absorbed into the blood stream through the skin to produce a feeling of calm relaxation. The vibration created by the flame continues on into the Eustation tube and, aided by the warmth, helps to soften and break up any wax or mucus which may be blocking the ears and sinuses, so relieving any uncomfortable pressure in the head area. Once broken down these waste products are more easily expelled through the lymphatic system. This process of detoxification will continue for up to 48 hours after treatment.
